Lin Cheungによる1999年に初めて発表されて以来ロングセラーとなっているリングのシリーズ“Reasons”。
板状のステンレスを巻いて作られたシンプルな形のリングには、“I am engaged”、 “for fun” 、“it’s from a someone special” 、“a symbol of faith”など、人がリングをつける理由を表すフレーズが様々なフォントで刻印されている。ジュエリーそのものよりも、愛や友情、記憶、信仰といった人々がジュエリーを身につける理由に興味をそそられたという作家自身による考察がデザインソースになっている。言葉選びが楽しいウィットに富んだリングは44種類あり、贈り物にもおすすめです。


“Reasons” is a series of rings created by Lin Cheung since 1999. The rings are made of flat stainless steel with engraved phrases that show reasons why people wear rings such as “I am engaged”, “for fun”, “it’s from a someone special”, “a symbol of faith” and so on.
The artist has been fascinated by reasons people gave for wearing jewelry than actual items, and her insight became design source of these rings.
There are 44 kinds of phrases with different fonts, which make fun to choose the one that suits to persons/occasions.
