Lin Cheungによる1999年に初めて発表されて以来ロングセラーとなっているリングのシリーズ「Reasons」。板状のステンレスを巻いて作られたシンプルな形のリングには、「I am engaged」、 「for fun」 、「a symbol of faith」　など、人がリングをつける理由を表すフレーズが様々なフォントで刻印されています。ジュエリーそのものよりも、愛や友情、記憶、信仰といった人々がジュエリーを身につける理由に興味をそそられたという作家自身による考察がデザインソースになっています。

“Reasons” is a series of rings created by Lin Cheung since 1999. The rings are made of flat stainless steel with engraved phrases that show reasons why people wear rings such as “I am engaged”, “for fun”, “it’s from a someone special”, “a symbol of faith” and so on. The artist has been fascinated by reasons people gave for wearing jewelry than actual items, and her insight became design source of these rings.
